Hearthstone player Reynads’ new card-based auto battler, The Bazaar, has finally become widely playable on PC and Mac and lets players compete with each other in Ranked mode. While the game has gone through many changes throughout its development, the final product has seen success in capturing a fanbase of both card game and auto battler audiences. With a mobile release planned, it is shaping up to be a major competitor to genre mainstays like TFT and Hearthstone’s Battlegrounds.

With plans to enter a free open beta in December, an even larger influx of players will be entering The Bazaar shortly. While it offers a simple tutorial for new players, the information provided is mostly relegated to in-game explanations. While useful, they don’t provide much detail about how exactly their ranked system works. Similar to other card game draft systems, such as MTG: Arena’s draft mode and Hearthstone’s competitive mode, playing ranked in Bazaar requires tickets, which themselves can be acquired through various game activities.

Choosing the game mode is done right before entering the game. After hitting the ready button, players will choose between two modes: Ranked and Normal. Ranked itself requires a ticket, which can be earned in various ways, while normal play can be entered freely. Completing a ranked run nets your chests and ranks progression based on your performance. Similar to MTG Arena‘s draft mode, performance is measured in player wins, with chest rewards and ranked points being based on slightly different win thresholds.

The chests themselves contain cosmetics and an associated gem reward depending on the rarity of the cosmetic. The lowest gem reward is currently 35, with the highest being somewhere around 60. Besides purchasing the founder’s edition, cosmetics can only be earned through these ranked chests. There are a variety of them to unlock, from hero skins to different board appearances, all of which are planned to be tradeable among players.

How To Earn Ranked Tickets

Three Methods Of Earning Tickets

There are a few primary methods to earn ranked tickets in The Bazaar. The first is by achieving 10 wins in the normal, free-play mode. As the name suggests, this mode has no daily cap on playing or earning tickets. While completing a ten-win run is no easy feat, comparable to top place in TFT, it’s a consistent way to both learn the game and earn entry into ranked mode. Players also receive one free entry into the ranked mode daily, offering the player, at the very least, one chance at cosmetics, gems, and improving their rank.

The free entry granted is not a ticket, meaning it cannot be saved for later use or stacked.

Players can also flat-out buy ranked tickets using 100 gems. As mentioned, gems are earned with every opened chest. They can also be purchased via microtransactions, with the price currently sitting at 100 gems per dollar. The minimum purchase of USD 5 will net you five runs in the ranked play, with the opportunity in those runs to earn enough gems to keep the ranked grind moving. Thankfully, the current set-up offers plenty of opportunities to enter ranked for free and is a solid system as The Bazaar shapes up to be one of the best card games.
